According to an article by Cheryl Chan for Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism it was a reported that a 2004 Synovate survey concluded that about 50 percent of women in the country uses whitening products. A startling figure but it might be much higher now with the increase of money used by manufacturers for advertisements in the country. Is there any show in the Philippines that doesn’t end by thanking a whitening product manuracturer or medical groups that advocate it?
